Another successful Summer Fair was held at St Jude's Church of England School in Herne Hill at the end of June! The sun shone, the barbecue sizzled - unless you'd gone for the delicious jerk chicken - and the kids (and some of the grown ups) enjoyed traditional summer fair activities from crafts to face painting to bouncy castle bouncing to 'splatting' the rat, and chucking wet sponges at their parents (and sometimes their teachers!). And if that wasn't enough, there was still the lucky dip, raffle, 'hoopla' for a 'jolly jar' of prizes, knock a tin can, learning some new football skills, or hooking a duck... After all that, time for a trip to the bar (with the option of a lovely homemade Brockwell elderflower cordial) and a well earned slice of cake, while listening to our talented steel pans band. After a recharge - time to browse the books and bric-a-brac,.. what more could we want from an afternoon out?
A big big thank you to everyone who came along, and a big thank you to Pedder for their generous sponsorship again this year. The funds raised will be put to excellent use in the 2018-19 academic year, for the benefit of everyone at the school. We're looking forward to Summer Fair 2019 already!
